hk TRIP!

it's a long overdue post on my HK trip!! oops

I's juz too lazy to upload the photos and blog abt it. =P busy with work mah heh

P1000296
here's my entourage.

On the left and the centre are my neighbours, who lived 1 floor below my unit. The auntie on the right is my mum! Looking young still! well apparently the 3 of them is hoping to win some instant cash.

me on the other hand, is aiming for.............
.
.
.
P1000301 this damn chio car!

anywayz, lucky draws aside.....

we r on Cathay Pacific flight! woo hooo! best airline of the year 2006! looking forward to the in-flight meal and in flight entertainment. Aero travel intolerant me can't imagine sitting in a plane for anything more than 3 hrs without entertainment to distract me!

P1000312
here's me with my headphones on! going to watch R.V. heh heh

P1000315

here's my lunch~ Some chicken stuff not bad la, but i dun dare to eat too full during flight, juz in case. The perk of my lunch is the Hagen Daz ice cream in choclate! yummy!

P1000317
see my satisfied mum with her prized ice cream! *grins*

4 hrs ltr, we touched down at HK airport. we got to walk quite a distance to this light rail to take us to the arrival hall.
P1000322
weird. is the airport really so so big?? weird.. so faRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

after we got through the immigration, we waited for the airport transfer to drive us to our hotel. well, cos it's arranged by the agency, we got to wait for the other passengers too. Finally, we got onto the van like half an hr ltr. But HK airport is so far from the HK city area...travelling takes abt another half an hr........but sway us........we were caught in a traffic jam! so by the time we reached hotel..., it's already 3 hrs since we touched down....we rested for a while and headed for some gd stuff.

RoAst GooSE!!
P1000335
this roast goose is damn good man!
apparently, we went to this very famous restaurant in HK. Here it is:P1000336 it's called "yong kei" in canto
it's in Central area. Juz take MTR to Central and ask the friendly MTR 's customer service aka "control station" for directions! It's pretty famous la~ they will know 1

after dinner, we took a bus to The Peak for a night view of HK. oh boy, it was so cold up there, that the aunties all went inside the buidling to "siam" the strong, cold wind.

I wanted to take a pic of the night scene behind me, so.......i juz asked some nice tourist to take for me, cos aunties all went into hiding le... =(
P1000359
The lonely tourist

We headed back to the hotel after The Peak. But I still went to shop ard Granville road alone when the aunties were all too tired to move out from their comfortable beds. Shops are still opened even when I head back to hotel at ard 1215! gosh~ shopping is so nice in HK. everyday is late night shopping heh~

day 2:

We r heading to Lantau island to take the new cable car to the Big Buddha!!

cable car ride, passenger 1 & 2

cable car ride, passenger 3 & 4
P1000373

though the aunties are all smily faces, they were all abit terrified of the ride cos it's their maiden trip on a cable car. All pro-claimed that they have never sat on a cable car before, not even the one to sentosa! gosh! anyway, this cable car is way way fantastic than what we have in sentosa. This crosses numerous peaks and travelled I think, at least 10 times the distance from Mt Faber to Sentosa. Best thing of all, it's super cooling, when the wind blows!

P1000378 see the big buddha in the background? we r near!

after a 15-20 mins ride + walking, we finally reached the bottom of the Big Buddha. all aunties heaved a sigh of relief when they touched ground.cable car rides proved to be a bit adventurous for them. Heh.
P1000383

P1000388
look at the long flight of stairs! every body (yes, including me) huff and puff our way up... and

finally!
P1000391
P1000407

P1000417
muahaha, my mum as a "monk"

anyway, here's how I look like with no hair~~
P1000418

Next stop:
"huang da xian"
P1000432

this is one very famous temple in HK, which is said to be very "ling"

see the amount of ppl!

I actually saw alot of kids like 13 -14 yr old, coming here to pray and "qiu qian" ( the wooden tub that devotees shake while wishing hard for something, then a bamboo strip will drop out, with the prediction number. which then u go and collect the prediction for the thing u wished and prayed hard for).

ANyway, it's pretty commercialised there. Once you got your "qian" number, you will proceed to an area, with super duper lotsa fortune tellers shops
P1000435
to actually pay them a fee to help you interpret the meaning of the "qian"

After all the praying stuff, we went over to Mongkok and shopped the whole day. Totally packed with people. But well since, I'm shopping, I dun really have the mood to take pics heh.

We went back to our hotel ard 8 plus. Guess what? SInce it's China National Day. I have got myself a visual treat!

P1000440

they actually closed the whole Tsim Sha Tsui area to manage the massive crowd expected!

P1000451

Fireworks was on for like 20 mins? everything is juz whoa whoa whoa! y can;t SG be more generous with their fireworks...*sigh*

P1000506

Day 3

last day! I brought the aunties to Causeway Bay area to buy their "lao bo pings", almond cookies and my egg tarts from excelisor hotel! yummies~ i can't find my Krispy Kremes! but i was tired from carrying the 6 boxes of "lao bo pings" to insist in digging the store out too... my hands r full so...yup no photos too.. heh

sad but true. 3 days of HK fun is over in a jiffty...so sad

P1000525

but we certainly came back rewarded with memories and also losta stuff!
P1000529
see the black luggage? I bought it in HK. heh. Aunty xian was dragging this through Causeway Bay for the entire morning - afternoon when I was there...even drag it to the restaurant where I had my lunch~

anyway, that's all for my HK trip! will certainly go back someday for more thorough shopping!

I'm leaving for Bkk on sat morning!
I promise to update bkk trip asap too.

time to do my SoC.

Nightz~
